Monday, Oct.13, Villars, St. Saturnin-les-Apt

We had a long, long restful sleep last night - we were really tired.  Slept in til 11!  Must be catching up with jetlag.  We hung around the apartment after brunch, read, and generally relaxed before heading to Apt to buy a SIM chip for B's iPhone, and then to MacDonald's for our Wifi fix.

We then drove up to Saint Saturnin les Apt which is a little perched village a few kilometers from us.  It has a long escarpment (?) of stone running up the side of the mountain directly to the church at the top of the village.  We've read that about 2500 folks live there.  It's very picturesque, and we'll plan to go back again for half a day and wander around at leisure.  There is a restaurant there where I'd wanted to eat, very highly recommended on Trip Advisor, but it was closed up completely - probably only open in the summer, as is the restaurant at the end of our driveway here.  We'll eat here at home again tonight, finishing up our BBQ'd chicken, and cooking some of the fresh veggies we got at the Apt market on Saturday.
